The Founding People of Christianity

    The early hebrews who eventually developed into the Jewish religion became the foundation of Christianity. Jesus, commonly referred to as the Messiah, was a Jewish boy who disagreed with some of the Jewish principles of his day began to profess a new way of thinking. This eventually led toi the beginning of the Christian religion.

History

   It started out with Abraham and Moses bringing along the Hebrew way of life and Jesus as a Jew brought along the Jewish way of life.  Moses received the 10 laws that each Hebrew that was to become the foundation of the Christian religion. These ten laws are now known as the 10 Commandments. At the time these ten commandments set apart the religion at the time because for the first time the people knew what was expected of them. As Jesus began to preach his word many people were shocked by many things he did and eventually he was crucified because he choose to die for his people and his followers rather than conform to the ideals of the day.

Age of Religion

    Christianity started about 2000 years ago about the same time of Jesus.

Main Philosphy

    The central point of Christian belief is that God entered into human history in the historical Jesus of Nazereth.  The main points of Christian beliefs are:

-    God is the Creator of the universe.
-    The nature of God is trinitarian: there is one God, Who is Three  Persons-
     Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
-    Jesus is both fully man and fully God.  He was born of the Virgin Mary
     Crucified, resurrected from the dead, and ascended to the Father.
-    Sin and Evil are realities in our existence.
-    The bible records God's revelation.
-    All believers are promised life everlasting.
 

Place of Origin

    Christianity started out in Judea, during the early Roman Empire. At the Eastern end of the Mediterranean Sea in the modern day countries of Syria, Jordan and Lebanon. It was in this area, specifically in the city of Jerasulem where Jesus was born that the first true beginnings of Christianity began to develop.
 
 

The Growth of Christianity

   The Roman Empire had become Christian in a time of profound crisis.  The Christian church grew from the ruins of the empire, it faced the challenge of bringing the Gospel message to the new Germanic kingdoms established in the old Roman provinces.

Followers/Leaders of Christianity

    The leader of Christianity was Jesus, and the followers was his 12 diciples.  After Jesus was crucified the diciples took over full control and found other people that was interested in practicing the Christian Religion.

Holy Book

    The holy book for the Christianity religion is the Holy Bible that contains an Old Testament and a New Testament. The old testament is actually a part of the Jewish religious writings at the time.

Time Line

    The Apostolic Church was the begining of the churches of Christianity.  This began at 90 C.E.

    A major event in the Chrisrian religion is the growth of Christianity in the Roman Empire, and this was in the year 313 C.E.

     By the year 410 C.E. Christianity Succeeds Empire.

     In the years of 1198-1216 the Medival Church started to evolve.
